Plant viroids are infectious pathogens that cause plant disease, leading to crop, yield, and potency losses. These viroids are often too small to be seen with a microscope and are highly transmissible. Also known as the dudding disease, Hop Latent Viroid (HLVd) can wreak havoc on a cultivation. Plants can be asymptomatic and still transmit the viroid to other plants, which is why it's important to quarantine new plants and clones until they can be tested.
