Lead Laboratory Technician
Job Summary
The Lead Laboratory Technician position is responsible for the routine processing of samples to achieve accurate and timely results, prioritizing workflow, conducting real time review of work completed and being lab point of contact in the absence of Laboratory Manager.
Duties and Responsibilities
● Execute weighing responsibilities as defined in SOP efficiently and accurately
● Authorized to independently execute multiple test methods per the Standard Operating Procedures, including extractions, dilutions and sequencing of various instruments as well as correctly mixing/making Mobile Phases, QCs and various other Solutions
● Identified as a Subject Matter Expert for 1 or more Test Methods, allowing them to make Document Revisions, Worksheet updates, assist with Test Method development through Job Shadowing or direct support of SCIOPS projects
● Have been certified through the Train the Trainer program
● Oversee training for new-hires and carry out ongoing training
● Responsible for the real time review of completed work
● Document all trainings
● Demonstrate successful prioritization of work, building worksheets, and assigning tasks
● Capable of being the Point of Contact for the lab in the absence of Laboratory Manager
● Accurately complete worksheets and logbooks
● Accurately transfer instrument results to LIMS while maintaining data integrity
● Complete laboratory cleaning per SOP, assign where necessary to ensure cleanings completed on time
● Escalate safety observations or lab improvements as appropriate
● Assist in daily scheduling of the workflow and lab techs
● Ensure Labs Techs are compliant with ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and internal SOPs
● Ensure Laboratory daily tasks are completed (i.e. bottles are cleaned, mobile phase is made, etc.)
● Responsible for ensuring the laboratory is clean
● Maintaining daily communication with your Laboratory Management
Qualifications
● Education: Bachelor’s degree in scientific field, or demonstrated equivalent experience
● Technical/Specialized knowledge: HPLC-UV, HS-GC-FID, ICP-MS, LC-MS/MS, and microbiology
● Skills: Strong communication. Able to prioritize tasks in order of impact. Able to delegate responsibly.

Requirements
● Schedule flexibility
● Must be at least 21 years of age
● Must be able to pass a background check
● Proficient in Microsoft office and G-Suite
● Preferred experience with ISO/IEC 17025 regulations
