Technical Support Engineer

Job Summary
The Technical Support Engineer will support our IT Manager in understanding, maintaining, monitoring and implementing IT systems for end users. They would be responsible for providing technical support and ensuring the company’s technological runs smoothly. Experience in a startup where multiple hats must be worn is highly desirable.


Duties and Responsibilities
o New-employee technology onboarding – Workstations, Network Accounts, Email Accounts, VoIP phone setups
o Desktop PCs and laptops builds and maintenance
o Desktop Support – PCs, peripherals, Work From Home environments, third-party software, Operating Systems
o IT Forum moderation
o Knowledgebase Article writeups and reviews
o Monitor and maintain video surveillance system
o Egnyte file system monitoring and maintenance
o Employee Offboarding – Removing network, file system, and email accounts
o Company training on key technologies – RingCentral video conferencing, Gmail usage, remote access software, Open
VPN, Slack, etc.
o Software and Hardware purchasing


Qualifications
 Knowledge of core technologies, including:
o Google Workplace administration experience
o Active Directory: Users, Groups, Computers, Organizational Units, Privileges
o DHCP, DNS
o Windows workstation software: Installations, Optimizations
o Workstation Operating System and driver installations and optimizations
o Remote Access Software: TeamViewer, Splashtop
o Acronis Snap Deploy (or similar system replication software)
o Slack administration
o Password Managers (such as RoboForm)
o Egnyte file server (desired)
o Citrix ShareFile (desired)
o Network Video Recorders (NVRs) and Cameras
o Backup software platforms
o OpenVPN usage and configuration


Requirements
o Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, computer engineering, network administration or similar.
o Minimum of 2 years’ experience in information technology in a support engineering or computer help desk role
o Must be available nights and weekends for maintenance and emergency IT work, as necessary
