Marketing Assistant

Department: Marketing

Report To: Marketing Manager

Job Summary

The Marketing Assistant will facilitate day-to-day operations of the marketing department including social media moderation, updating, and ordering materials, and helping with event setup and other outreach objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the Marketing team in planning, implementing, and monitoring all department objectives.
  • Assist Digital Media Specialist in writing, creating and scheduling content for various digital platforms such as social media, website, newsletters, and blog.
  • Moderate content distribution and audience engagement
  • Updating and creating new promotional literature, e.g. brochures, pamphlets, and other handouts as well as digital collateral.
  • Assist Events & Outreach Specialist in organizing & coordinating events such as trades shows, conferences, educational seminars, and internal company events. This includes setting up, breaking down, and working said events.
  • Assist the marketing team in ordering promotional materials and tracking inventory, e.g. pins, stickers, t-shirts, hats, etc.
  • Collaborate with marketing & other departments on presentations for clients & community.
  • Assist with company-wide communications, events, compliance, and other projects & initiatives as needed
  • Monitor industry news and current events to identify opportunities for enhancing the company’s thought leadership status
  • Assist marketing manager with team organization and metric tracking

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (marketing or related field preferred)
  • Weekend and evening availability required
  • Adobe Photoshop proficiency (highly preferred)
  • Adobe Illustrator proficiency
  • Customer service experience
  • Excellent written & verbal communication
  • Graphic Design experience
  • Videography and video editing experience
  • Creativity, flexibility, and growth potential
  • Should be open-minded, fast learner, enthusiastic and adaptable
  • Passion for cannabis and the community is highly preferred
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Must be 21 years of age

Work environment involves moderate risks or discomforts requiring special safety precautions; may be required to use personal protective equipment.
