President and Founder
Michael brings a wide range of laboratory research and teaching experience from the pharmaceutical industry and research academia for the past 10 years. His scientific background and leadership skills make him an integral part of MCR Labs’ operations. Michael has been an advocate for product safety and efficacy through reliable testing in the MMJ industry. He has spoken publicly for the right of MMJ consumers to access testing results that current scientific practices can provide. Michael is committed to ensuring that MCR Labs is a leader in reliable and trusted cannabis research and testing. He earned an MS in Chemistry from Boston University, BA/MS degrees in Chemistry and BA in Physics from Brandeis University in Waltham, MA.
Director of Compliance and Methodology
Scott is the director of compliance and methodology at MCR Labs. Scott brings over fifteen years of diverse industrial and pharmaceutical experience to our lab. Scott leverages his experience in management, quality assurance, and analytical chemistry to ensure MCR Labs meets or exceeds regulatory compliance requirements, achieves operational excellence, and maintains leading-edge technological capabilities. In pharmaceutical research, Scott was a formulation scientist, a quality assurance expert, an analytical method development scientist. Scott understands that scientists are the most important asset of any scientific operation; to this end he instituted a company-wide training program to ensure a high level of quality for all performed operations. Scott has a degree in chemistry from Rivier College.
Ross is a Finance and Accounting professional with over 10 years of experience in Financial Operations, Business Strategy, and Quantitative Analysis and has worked in positions of increasing responsibility in Public Accounting and Corporate environments. Most recently Ross served as the Canada business unit Controller and CFO for a multi-brand organization with $300 million in annual revenues.
Ross brings to MCR Labs experience with budgeting, revenue forecasting, cost management, financial reporting, analytics, and Six Sigma process improvement methodologies. Ross is also a frequent guest lecturer and start-up advisor at MIT’s eClub.
Ross holds an MBA from Carnegie Mellon University’s Tepper Graduate School of Business, as well as a Masters in Taxation and Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning from Bentley University’s McCallum Graduate School of Business. Ross also holds a Bachelors in Accounting from Bentley University.
Dimitri brings experience in new business development, product development, and financial planning to our advisory board. Dimitri provides input to MCR Labs regarding business operations, financial planning, and strategic resource management. Dimitri earned a degree in Business Management from Northeastern University. He has experience working as a Project Manager in business settings, and he has founded and maintained several successful local small businesses.
Dr. Michael Frid
Michael Frid brings 15 years of pharmaceutical industry experience and perspective to bear, including his background as a lead scientist and years of experience collaborating with a broad array of biopharmaceutical companies on pre-clinical and clinical stage projects. He has extensive experience and expertise in physicochemical characterization and formulation development for a variety of administration routes.
Dr. Frid is an organic chemist and is an expert in drug discovery and early drug development. He has co-authored several publications in peer-reviewed journals, has given presentations to audiences of pharmaceutical professionals, and has written on the subjects of drug formulation development, salt selection, and outsourcing. Dr. Frid also has served as a reviewer for the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS).
Dr. Frid received his Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and his B.S. in Chemistry Cum Laude from New York University (NYU).
